Historian & Head of the Archives of the Institute of National Remembrance in Poznań

Rafał Kościański, a graduate of the Adam Mickiewicz University and the Poznań University of Economics and Business. Since 2007 has been managing the archives of the Institute of National Remembrance, Branch in Poznań. Member of the editorial staff of the Archive Review of the Institute of National Remembrance. His research interests focus on the history of Wielkopolska in the 20th century. He is a co-author of: An Ordinary County Office: Public Security Office in Kościan 1945-1954, Cities of Freedom. Poznań–Budapest 1956, a monograph on Poznań June 1956 in English and German, and co-editor of: Poznań June 1956 – a selection of documents vol. 1–2 and Sphragistics in the Research of a Historian of Recent History. In 2022, as part of the cooperation between the Institute of National Remembrance and the Piłsudski Institute of America, he developed and digitized archival collections.
