How to Understand Painting, Drawing, and Graphics

In the multimedia presentation, Mr Druch will discuss basic elements of  two-dimensional art i.e. painting, drawing, graphics and photography.  Creation of paintings and drawings are subject to certain time or epoch’s - sensitive rules that are changing with time;  understanding those is an important element of the knowledge of art. The speaker will use illustrations from his most recent book entitled “ Countervisions: Drawings, illustrations and commentaries 1991-2022,  ("Kontrwizje: Rysunki, ilustracje, komentarze (1991-2022)", which will be available for purchase after the presentation.

Ryszard Druch, Graphic artist and satirist

Ryszard Druch graduated from State High School of Fine Arts and the Teacher Training College in Opole. His debut as a cartoonist took place in 1978. Ten years later he was inducted to the Association of Polish Artists of Caricature in Warsaw. Since immigrating to the US in 1991, Mr Druch lives, works, and creates his works of art in Trenton, NJ at his Druch Studio. He is a founder of a private Fine Arts Academy ( 2003) and organizer of Artistic Salons promoting Polish art and culture. Mr Druch is an author of over 1500 satirical drawings and caricatures honored by over 20 exhibitions in Poland. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and, for his educational achievements, a Medal of the Commission of National Education. Mr Druch is an author of two books and numerous press articles.
